Why RedShadow?

picture of Robin

Hey, just a quick explanation of why I named my site RedShadow67.

67 is simply the year I was born.

When I first went onto the internet I used redclaw123 as my username. Some years and the end of an abusive relationship later, CPS swooped in and stole my son, then another year later I met Jeffery and his username was shadow74 and when I made a new email he named it shadowgirl.

Jeffery and I had a daughter who CPS stole because supposedly I was a 'bad parent' or my son would have been returned. No matter how I explained I'd asked him to be adopted to protect him from my drug-addicted ex, they insisted I couldn't have her back unless I "addressed my parental deficiencies", whatever those were.

Fast forward, I had another son they stole directly from the hospital. We tried for a long time to get the two kids back but they kept giving us the runaround.

On the day I was pretty much forced to sign those kids away, that was the day I officially adopted RedShadow as my username because the bastards had clipped my claws and left me in shadow.

I am not telling this tale to make anyone angry or sad or sympathetic, I'm simply explaining where the name originated.

The truth is, I am proud to have taken that tragedy and turned it into a place where I help others to achieve their dreams, and at the same time get to achieve a few of my own as well.
