Hey there,
I am so excited to be at the beginning of a new decade! I’m stoked with the desire to finish Beach and get on a few other projects that I’ve wanted to do but haven’t had time to. Right now, though, I’m taking the last couple hours of the year to create this letter letting you know that if you have not picked up Undying Fire, or if you just want to help support my work a little, I’ve placed it into a book sale and set it at 99 cents from Jan 1-8. And if you love it as much as I hope, please remember it’d be wonderful if you’d review it to let others know!
Here is the link to the sale, which will start soon if it isn’t available already…(not added, sale over)
Anyway, don’t want you guys to think all I ever do is ask for stuff without giving something in return…but fair warning, if you don’t want to read the first sex scene between Joe and Aph you need to skip this chapter…
I couldn't believe I was actually doing this. I wasn't the kind of girl who took chances, and I sure as hell wasn’t the kind of girl who seated myself on the rock-hard cock of a guy who had just been pretending to be somebody else so he could find out if I was hiring material.
Yet there I was, so excited by the man himself that it hardly mattered if he was a commander or a homeless surfer dude, just as long as the promise of his eager cock would soon be fulfilled.
"We shouldn't stay here," Joe told me between kisses. "Somebody might show up to interrupt us. Will you trust me, my little goddess of the sea?"
I grinned. "Trusting you doesn't seem like a good idea from what I've seen."
"I get that—I really do, but I'd like to put that aside for now. Come with me, sweetheart, I know just the place where we could be alone."
There was something hypnotic about Joe Beach looking you right in the eyes and saying a thing like that. Something completely irresistible—I couldn't say no even if I had wanted to.
Trust him? Hell no! But right that moment I would have followed the guy anywhere.
This time, I happened to follow him as he ran right out into the water and dove in, swimming out to a small island about a mile away. When he ran out onto its beach, he shed his t-shirt and tossed it on the ground, then flopped down on top of it, placing his hands behind his head and casting me a saucy grin.
"What are you smiling about?"
"You just passed your swimming test."
I chuckled wryly.
"You're not even tired," he added as I tugged off my own t-shirt and tossed it down next to his. "That's good."
I snorted derisively. "It takes a whole lot more effort than that to tucker me out, kahuna boy. You gotta remember, I've been swimming my whole life."
"Where'd you live before you went down to help with the research in the Keys?"
"My mom lived in Miami," I told him, shrugging. "We had a house not half a mile from the beach, and the first time I set foot in the ocean I doubt I was even two years old."
I reached over and started to run my fingers through the short, curly hair on his chest, but he didn’t move a muscle, he just kept watching me intently. Is it weird that he could get me so close to an orgasm with just that look in those sexy blue orbs of his? Because damn, I wanted to jump on and show him what that gorgeous body of his was good for!
"Why are you staring at me?" I finally asked with a slightly nervous giggle.
"I'm just visualizing you as a two-year-old. But it's difficult to imagine it when faced with that lacy pink bra you're sporting at the moment. I wonder if it would help if I took it off of you."
"I doubt it would help you visualize me as a two-year-old, but I guarantee that if you did that, it would sure help something else out."
He grinned. "That doesn't need any help, sweetheart. It's ready for a twenty-one-gun salute."
"And we're still just talking why?"
"I don't know. Normally, I would never have brought you here on our first night—that's just not part of my M.O. But there's something different about you, Aph. Something I find completely captivating."
I smiled at the sentiment, which mirrored my own. Then I bent forward and nipped at his bottom lip several times, waiting for him to nip me in return before I did anything else.
Instead, Joe flipped us over so that I was underneath him, moving against me in a suggestive dance that left my senses reeling.
"Sweetheart, you've got no idea what kind of fire you're playing with," he told me in a husky tone. "Last chance. I won't be able to stop if we don't do it now."
"Most guys don't even interest me at all, Joe. I'd be crazy to stop now, when it's the first time I've ever lost control."
Joe groaned, and ground against me harder than ever. I moaned, and he captured the sound with his mouth. Our tongues twined together, and I thought I would die if I didn't get my sopping wet panties off my body right that second.
As if he could read my thoughts, Joe reached down and tugged at the button on my shorts, unzipping them and pulling them off, panties and all. He tossed them somewhere in the general direction of our shirts, and I didn't bother to track the movement. I was too busy looking at him as he ditched his own clothes. One look at that magnificent cock was all it took for me to release my last vestige of sanity and relinquish myself to the guy, body and soul.
Joe plunged into me. The gritty sand clung to my skin, and snuck into places it didn't belong, as we began to move, but I was too far gone to care. The feel of him was electric in a way I had never experienced before, and every one of my nerve endings throughout my entire body seemed to be paying attention.
Over and over he moved against me, in me, bringing me to the greatest pleasure I'd ever experienced in my life, yet every time I believed it couldn't possibly get any better, it did. I don't know how long we lingered on that little island together, but it was long enough to roll over and watch the sunrise.
"My aunt will be going crazy, wondering where I am," I finally whispered. "We should probably head back to reality soon, even though I'd rather not."
"Reality is overrated, you know," Joe said with a soft grumble. "Besides, now that there's a bit of light I've got something I wanted to show you."
I was too curious to tell him no, so when he held out his hand I took it, and he tugged me to my feet. Naked as the day I was born, I followed where Joe led. We climbed up a small hill, and when we dropped down on the other side I realized we stood at the mouth of a small cave.
"Hey, this is great," I said, smiling.
"Just wait, sweetheart. You haven't even seen the tip of the ice burg."
I giggled at such a comment right up until we went inside and passed the outcropping of rock that blocked my view, but as soon as we rounded the corner I gasped at the gorgeous, glimmering cavern we found there, at the center of which was a tall waterfall.
"There's more to explore behind the falls, though as you said, we don’t have time to do it right now."
"Time, or a proper torch," I pointed out.
"Yes, there is that too, I suppose," he agreed, though he was smirking as if he found the notion amusing.
"What, does it glow in there?"
Joe shrugged.
"Something like that. But I just wanted you to see a beauty in the world you didn't know about. Maybe some time we could come in here again, so I could show you around. It's sort of my home away from home."
I smiled, amused. "So you think you might want to see me again? I haven't totally blown my interview by sleeping with the boss?"
Joe grinned wryly. "I think we probably should try to keep play and work separate, Aph, at least for a while. But that doesn't mean I'm willing to forego one or the other. I have read your resume, and I was impressed enough with it to come have a look at you as a result. I didn't know everything else about you was going to impress me even more."
"I never knew I drove such a hard bargain," I replied, jabbing him in the ribs with my elbow. "But we better go back up before somebody finds our clothes or something, you know?"
He nodded, and we returned to the shore in companionable silence, then helped each other back into our clothes. We swam the mile back to the beach again, but I angled just a bit east of where we’d jumped into the water before, and Joe wordlessly followed, instinctively aware that I was headed for my home.
"So, Monday? When do you expect to arrive?" he asked as we stood just outside my house, neither of us wanting to let the other go.
"Oh, what about nine? Is that too soon for you?"
"I don't know, let me check my schedule," Joe replied, mimicking a notepad in his hand. "You know what? It looks like I'm wide open at that moment. Actually though, I'd have only been at work like one minute. How about ten, doll? Give me a chance to get all my ducks in a row?"
"Will do, Commander," I agreed. "And I'll try to remember to keep my hands to myself."
