Greetings from Robin Joy Wirth

Hey,

Well, I'm officially a year older and I guess some people like to know that stuff, so now you do...LOL. July 29th for those now wondering...

Anyway, for those of you who might want to pick up a free copy of my book, Dark Nebula, I've got it in this great bookfunnel promo over here:

Not sure this story is for you? Here's a little excerpt that might help you out...

SEVEN

Herc looked over and saw the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen. She was smirking with another young woman whose clothing suggested she was her servant, though the two of them behaved as if they were close.

The girl's lovely golden hair was drawn back into a long, thick braid that went all the way down to her waist, and her emerald eyes flashed in the light of the candles that littered the entire hall.

"Does she have a name, this daughter of yours?" Herc asked, feigning disinterest as he continued to stare.

"Lady Arayna Mosendic, sir," said the woman with pride. "I believe she is the loveliest of my girls, but she has recently been allocated to the care of Lady Luvania Tor. I don't know if you are at all familiar with that woman?"

"No, ma'am, this is the first time I have come to Fantasy World," he responded. He was growing bored of their conversation and wished she would turn to the other men, but so far she seemed to be fixated on him.

"Commander Lerg, are you as interested in the food as I am?" he inquired shortly. "I would love to sample a few of the things I see on that table."

Smirking, the man replied, "Oh, no, sir, I believe I had my fill before we arrived. But I shall endeavor to keep this fine lady company so you can partake."

"Well, sir, and who might you be?" said the Countess without missing a beat.

"I'm his second in command, my Lady," he answered.

Herc stepped over to the table of food, conveniently close to where the two gossiping women sat. He filled his plate and turned about as if looking for a likely spot to sit, his eyes casually falling on them.

"Is this seat taken?" he inquired with his most dazzling smile.

"By all means, sir, please join us," said the maid appreciatively, while the lady herself merely blushed instead.

Herc tried to catch her eyes, but she seemed to be much more intent upon her food than anything else in the room. He ate his food leisurely, and the two shared a glance or two, and when he was finished he excused himself politely, leaving Lady Arayna Mosendic to her thoughts.

Later that evening, a band struck up a waltz. Young Lady Arayna had been dancing every dance, and she looked quite tired of it. Her smiles, which had been less than genuine to begin with, were now so false she may as well not have bothered.

To give the girl a chance at rest, and admittedly to have an excuse to sample her creamy flesh, however briefly, Herc stepped past a rather insistent man who was about to claim her and quickly waltzed her out into the garden.

"What do you think you're doing?" she gasped. "My mother will have my head for escaping Ferdan in such a manner."

"And who is this Ferdan of whom you speak?" he chuckled. "Have I interrupted anything interesting?"

"Hardly," she scoffed. "He is just the most—persistent—of the group, I suppose. He's the new Duke of Laboroth, and is also married to my elder sister. He should have much better things to do with his time, but all he can think of is me."

"Well, a man could hardly blame him," he pointed out as he slid a hand casually along her jawline.

"Stop that!" she protested.

"You must learn to accept a man's attentions if you're headed off to a brothel tomorrow," he teased her. "I suspect you've no idea what I'm talking about, do you?"

"I'm not at that damned brothel yet," she growled hotly. "I swore that the next man who touched me would feel my ire, and I'm not about to change my mind just because you're not a man with whom I am familiar."

Then, without further ado, her tiny foot stomped down on his much larger one with as much force as was needed to convince him of her words. He yelped at the feel of it and let her go.

Arayna scurried back inside and ran for the stairs, tired of all things male. If this was the way she would have to live the rest of her nights from now on, she wanted absolutely no part of it.

She practically tore off her pretty ball gown and stepped into the bathroom for a much-needed shower. When she was done, she slipped into her nightgown and lay on her bed, willing herself to get some rest.

As always, you can find a few more deals further down the email...thanks for reading!
